Big Apple Voters Are Souring On Giuliani

Rudolph Giuliani isn't feeling the love from the city he once served, based on the results of an exclusive NY1 poll released Wednesday.

The poll shows that the Republican presidential candidate is better liked by New Yorkers who do not live in the five boroughs, than those who do.

“He does a lot better outside the city than inside the city,” says NY1 pollster Mickey Blum.

The poll shows that 55 percent of voters statewide have a favorable opinion of the former mayor, while 32 percent do not and 13 percent are undecided.

In New York City, however, only 44 percent have a favorable opinion of Giuliani, while 46 percent think unfavorably about him.

In his eight years in office Giuliani had a tense relationship with communities of color, and it shows in the poll. Only 15 percent of black voters rate him favorably.
