TO the relief of beleaguered NBC, Madonna has agreed to cut the controversial crucifixion scene from her upcoming network concert special.
The Material Girl - who's been getting crucified by the press over her fast-track adoption of an urchin from Africa - agreed to drop a scene from her special in which she sings "Live to Tell" while hanging from a huge, mirrored "disco cross" and wearing a crown of thorns.
NBC officials said yesterday that the scene, shot during the London stop of Madonna's summer "Confessions" tour, had been "revised," The Post's Don Kaplan reports.
Religious groups and family-value organizations that were upset enough by the mock crucifixion during Madonna's tour were enraged that it would be included in the Nov. 22 show on NBC.
